How to use it
- Tick as you go. A mark in the day column is enough for attendance. Add minutes only where your state counts hours.
- Write the highlights on Friday. Two lines while it is fresh beat a paragraph reconstructed in May.
- Carry the year-to-date forward. Copy last week's running day count onto this sheet so you always know where you stand against your state's requirement.
- File the sheets together. A binder of weekly reports is most of a portfolio already.

What should a weekly report include?
The days school happened, the subjects covered each day, time spent where your state counts hours, books and read-alouds, and one or two highlights. That is enough to rebuild an attendance record, an hours total, or a portfolio entry months later.
Do I have to keep weekly reports for my state?
A weekly report is rarely a filing requirement on its own. The records states do ask for, attendance days, instructional hours, and work samples, are simply easier to produce when each week was summarized at the time. Your state page lists what is actually required.
