Homeschoolio is an independent app that helps homeschooling families keep good records and stay on the right side of their state's rules. It is built for families, not institutions, around two beliefs: logging your day should take seconds, and the records you create should belong to you.
Who makes it
Homeschoolio is built and maintained by an independent developer, not a large edtech company. That shapes the product. It is a native app for iPhone and iPad, it works offline first, and it does not carry ad or tracking software. There is no investor pressure to harvest data or bolt on features that get in your way. The job is to make record-keeping fast and to keep your records safe and portable.
How we verify state law
The most important thing on this site is that the state information is correct. Here is exactly how we get there:
- We read primary sources. For each state we work from the actual statutes and regulations, and the Department of Education pages that administer them, rather than repeating what other sites say.
- We cross-check. We compare against established homeschool-law references to catch anything we missed, but where a reference and the statute disagree, the statute wins.
- We date everything. Each state was verified for the 2026 school year, and every state page shows when it was last checked. We re-verify before each release.
- We keep an audit trail. The corrections and the sources behind them are recorded, so changes are deliberate and traceable rather than guesswork.
We are honest about the limits of this. Homeschool law changes, districts interpret it differently, and no summary can replace your own district's current guidance. So everything here is informational, and we say plainly on every page: confirm the rules with your state or district before you file.
What we will not do
- We do not put ad or tracking SDKs in the app, and we never sell or share your family's data.
- We do not post fake reviews or invent ratings.
- We do not pretend to be a law firm or an accrediting body. Homeschoolio is a record-keeping tool, not legal advice and not a diploma authority.
- We do not lock your records in. Export everything to PDF and CSV any time, for free, even after you cancel.
Privacy, in brief
Homeschoolio is offline first. Your family's records live on your device and do not leave it unless you choose to turn on sync. There is no third-party ad tracking, and you can export or delete your data whenever you want. The full details are in our privacy policy.
