4. AI can encourage critical thinking: AI requires the use of prompts, which are statements, questions, or blocks of code presented to ‘prompt’ a response.  Prompt Engineering requires AI users to think critically to order the right words or code efficiently to get the most out of the datasets they are querying.
   Perhaps more importantly, because the datasets will be limited and trained to have certain biases. We should help our kids understand this problem. Teach your kids to question the information they are presented with. Ask them to explore multiple resources, and to analyze the information critically. This will help them to develop their own opinions and learn to defend ideas and beliefs. 

But, why is it important for us to be actively engaged with the world around us?

As homeschooling parents who care about our kids and the communities in which we live, we have a unique opportunity to make a difference in the world. We can only do this by actively participating. This requires us to understand and use tools and resources of our day. That includes AI.
